To save your skype settings and chat history, navigate to c:\AppData\Roaming\Skype ( Vista or Windows 7), or c:\Documents and Settings\[username]\ApplicationData\Skype (in XP) and locate the folder with your Skype username. Copy and save this somewere safe., or write it to disc. To restore the settings in future, Simply copy this folder back into the same directory.
